My Day, July 2, 2012

I know, I know... it's been a while. But I've been busy and I went a little backwards for a bit there. But here I am, back at it again!

So how did I go backwards? Over the weekend, we took the kids to see Brave. I ate half a tub of popcorn BY MYSELF! Oops.. the salt in that alone would have been 4 days worth, if not more. Ugh. So when I woke up the next morning, I was bloated, retaining fluid again, and had gained an ungodly amount back. And then I ate porridge (oatmeal). And I think I have discovered that I just shouldn't eat it, even though it is good for me :( I had the most horrible tummy pains for the rest of the day and put off any form of walking.



And as for the walking... I thought I may have to stop. I thought I was developing shin splints. But it turned out that I had been tying my shoelaces too tight, which was causing pain across the bridge of my foot, and up the front of my shin! I blitzed the treadmill yesterday! I did two sessions. Combined, I walked 8.25 kilometres, walked for 1 1/2 hours, and burned off over 400 calories :D GO ME!

I haven't managed to hop on the treadmill yet today (and it's 5.30pm), but will be hopping on soon for a good walk!

So I guess I have learnt a huge old lesson, that although I do love eating so many things, I just can't. At the moment I am having one Healthy Choice dinner each night, and cooking the kids something else. It's not the best way to do things, but at the moment, with Keith working nights, it is the easiest (and cheapest!) way to deal with dinner time. I am also still struggling to come up with things to eat through the day for breakfast and lunch. I think bread is a no go for me too, as I seem to bloat after eating it :(

Anyway, just wanted to apologise for my absence and I will be back on the bandwagon with a vengeance from now on! And making a huge effort to avoid all things salty.
